Embracing more…

seeing new perspective

Last night, during my break from seeing pages of law books, i’m lucky to picked the movie Soul Surfer to break the monotony of reading stuff. It’s an inspiring movie based on the real-life biography of Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm as a result of a shark attack while she was surfing. It’s a simple story that is meant to tell us that it’s not a really a choice to give up all the time we are faced with different level of desperate situations or trials in life. Just have a perspective that there are more other helpless people on earth suffering more pain that we do. And sometimes, it’s just a backdrop of a blessing for us in return, to be more courageous and better person.

And Bethany is also lucky to be surrounded by a family and friends who truly supported her in that desperate time when she even questioned what’s the purpose of God by what happened to her. And it’s the time when she learned that sometimes we really just have to be looking for another perspective of things just to have a clear picture of what the truth behind what’s happening to us all. Then you’ll know God has lots of good stuff planned ahead for you…and learn to embrace more people to extend the grace you learned from your hardest times.

  4. Life has its ups and downs. Sometimes you’ll face a great challenge that will test your faith and as you described in your movie review/sermon, your loylty to the Great One will also be challenged. However, GOD shows us time and time again that HE will never abandon us and for that, I’m eternally thankful for being a servant of the LORD. Yes, I know I have strange fetishes and I don’t read the bible as much as other Christians do but there’s never a doubt in my heart and soul who I truly serve and who I strive to succeed for (Besides my family who continues to support me through thick and thin). GOD is and always will be #1 in my life no matter what happens to me.
