Perhaps this may be late, but this is the latest ani-movie I loved. The latest from Shinkai Makoto, Hoshi wo Ou Kodomo, which I think is another chancefor Makoto to outdo himself with such breathtaking animation. The story is still about deep sorrow, loneliness, triumph, and magical journey of great characters who will carved permanently in any otaku’s heart. This time, Makoto explored on the topic of loss and death, more than the solitude theme common to his previous great movies like 5 centimeters per second, wrapped in a science fiction bordering to fantasy. And that was a big leap for Makoto. It’s like he’s trying to remake great Ghibli movies, with his own signature. But with lots of disbelief, the story ended with a message that living should never be sacrificed for the sake of the dead. And between death and blessing, human just really needs to finds happiness.

The movie is another gift from a great artist that mixed adventure, romance, and spectacular of clouds, rivers, valleys, mountains and wondrous different kind of world. And the intense action made it the top 2 anime for me for the year 2011 while I developed sense of honor of seeing how Asuna completed her magical adventure because of her loneliness.

Also, this is the movie that reminds me I should not close the movie until the every end. The ending credits which featured the ending theme is “Hello Goodbye; Hello”, by Kumaki Anri, shown glimpse of what happened after the great adventure. Such ending song simply completes the movie.

it’s cyberpunk

Mardock Scramble: The First Compression is the first release of the trilogy movie as film adaptation of Tow Ubukata‘s science fiction novel of the same name. The first installment screened at last year’s New York Anime Festival, and now I know why we have not seen any news about it for over nine months since it’s sreened on theaters. Maybe the main reasons why not much hits for it being distributed is that the movie has not been too promising as it was with other cyberpunk series or movies in the past, like Ghost in the Shell series and films, Akira or Viper’s Creed. Original story is about “a girl named Rune Ballot who was taken in by a man named Shell who later killed her and left her for dead. She is saved and turned into a cyborg. It is up to her to stop Shell and his evil gang”. Somehow, the movie failed to become a pulse-pounding cyberpunk noir adventure im waiting to see since November 2010. Still, I watched it because of its deep themes about depression and sexual desires which are both interesting and thought-provoking topics for all times, especially if these are told in some kind of tempo that’s effectively humorous smeh

Hell Chapter

Everything or everyone in Bleach needs to be powered up some more, otherwise Bleach fans will not have to wait for 8 or 9 months just to see this latest movie of Bleach series: Gekijouban Bleach: Jigoku Hen ~ Bleach: The Hell Chapter. Here, fans could view Ichigo longer in his full hollowfied form, and its powered up more by having that cool armored body taken from the collective power or spiritual force from the guardians of Hell. As I have been saying to my friends, you cannot expect some great story in every bleach movies. They are either set in alternate universe or just another expanded adventure of Ichigo along the way as told in the Bleach series. But you really have to be asking for more because this latest movie has all the action otakus been looking for when watching Bleach fights. After all, it’s our modern-day dragonball series.

Not yellow, it’s Redline

ANN: Takeshi Koike‘s racing action anime Redline won the Audience Award for Best Animated Film at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal. The 15th edition of the festival ran from July 14 to August 7 and pulled in more than 100,000 attendees over its run.

If you want to be thrilled by high-adrenaline-filled racing movie, it’s time to start watching this movie. It’s story is simple, very basic, and direct to the point, but imagine an almost 2 hours of exciting, fast-paced movie created by handmade drawings for almost 7 years in the making. It’s almost like the movie, Tailenders, but not quite too similar that this Redline is like an unusual cinematic experience at the same time wile watching common characters being made part of an amazing animation that deserves scant regards on its story…just enjoy the amazing fun-ride viewing experience.

Hellsing VIII

For Hellsing fans, July 27, 2011 was an important date as the eight episode of Hellsing OVA was finally released in Japan after a long one year and eight month wait. Along with the first episode of The Dawn. And we’re still expecting a ninth episode to arrive in early 2012.

Im putting here the link of my reencoded version of the latest LQ fansub released just last night. It’s almost 49 minutes in duration so the file is large compared to normal reencoded releases. Im going to add the link to anime sites im involved with later tonight because i cant log to any anime site while I’m at work. lol

A magic of thousand years

Follow the adventure of Shinko, a whimsical young girl living in a small country town South-West of Tokyo, with her Mai Mai that lets her imagine a magical world thousand years ago with an influence from her grandfather. This marvelous anime was made in the same fascinating, very vibrant and fun animation comparable with My Neighbor Totoro. For me, it’s like The Secret Garden turned animated with lots of admirable characters yet no matter how much or how little screen time they get, feels incredibly human. Some characters get barely touched on, but you can tell that they are going through their own personal adventures and struggles. It’s a cinematic experience with story that resides beneath the surface that has a life of its own as it is so aptly represented using animation.

As the movie aptly puts it, people we love will always be here and there if we still remember them. And its also a movie that reminds me of our nostalgic childhood, though we all know that realities will soon be there.

Naruto has already made a firm stand that he’s now committed to face Sasuke, without any iota of hesitation but a careful scheme how to make himself stronger. And the prophecy will lead his way to achieving that goal of making him worthy opponent of Sasuke. The latest episodes (221 and 222) of Naruto Shippuuden further made it even crucial not simply because the Five Kages already started planning what to do in preparing for the Fourth Great Ninja War, but because Kabuto now re-appeared with plenty of aces on his sleeve in joining forces with Madara. The series is now serious in its tempo, lest just hope it will not venture into another filler arc again.
